India has an independent judicial system based on the English Common Law.
The Indians are widely represented by numerous political parties. With coalitions at the center, regional parties have gained popularity.

President
Council of Ministers
The President of India is the Head of State and the Commander in Chief for the Armed Forces. He is elected for a term of five years.
The Council of Ministers are appointed by the President on the recommendation of the Prime Minister. It comprises of the Cabinet Ministers, Ministers of State and Deputy Ministers.
