Punjab & Sind Bank was established in the year 1908 with the principle of helping the weaker section in the society. It is the first bank in Northern India to get ISO 9002 certification for its selected branches. The total business of the Bank stood at Rs. 200525 millions as on March 31, 2004.

Punjab & Sind Bank has 760 branches and 131 extension counters. It has opened an exclusive Housing Finance Branch in order to cater the credit need of the house aspirants. To groom the youngsters, it has its own Hockey Academy at Jalandhar. It sponsored 58th National Junior Hockey Championship. It also sponsored the Junior Hockey Team in the 6th Junior World Cup Hockey Championship at Milton Keyenses, England. The team brought Silver Medal to India.

Punjab & Sind Bank Credit Card

The bank launched a co-branded credit card on 2nd July 2004 with ICICI Bank known as "PUNJAB & SIND BANK-ICICI BANK Credit Card". It comes in the following three varieties :

• Blue Card
• Silver Card
• Gold Card

The eligibility criteria for availing the card in terms of Annual Income are as mentioned below :

The credit card account is maintained by ICICI Bank. It provides all operational services for the credit card covering periodical bills, despatching statement, collection, payments and processing of charges etc. It also assumes the responsibility for collection, recovery of charges, due fees, all financial liability and debt risk.

Punjab & Sind Bank is having a special tie-up arrangements with insurance companies to provide insurance related services to its customers. For all its Non Life insurance business it has a tie-up with M/s Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company and for Life Insurance business arrangements, it follows M/s Aviva Life Insurance Company India Pvt. Ltd.
